#2: Old Fort Bay

Situated on the northwestern tip of New Providence Island, this beach is the gateway to a former British colonial fort that was established more than 300 years ago. Steeped in a rich history of pirates, privateers, and buccaneers this beachfront offers a fresh landscape perspective that includes an intricate canal system.

Discover Old Fort Bay

The best way to experience Old Fort Bay is with a membership to Old Fort Bay Club. Aqualina owners will have access to this exclusive membership that delivers a sophisticated and timeless experience for all. The clubhouse offers members access to fitness amenities, yoga classes, paddleboards and kayaks. For those looking for a quieter sanctuary, giant water floats and beach hammocks are the perfect accessories for a day without tasking.

Dining at Old Fort Bay

Old Fort Bay Club: The clubhouse offers two dining options for members. The Sea-view terrace delivers a more elegant experience with a menu that boasts international cuisine with the freshest, local ingredients. The Sand bar is perfect for more casual meals on the beach.

#4: Love Beach

For a more rustic beach experience, you can head to Nassau’s Love Beach. This quiet beach is far from the crowds and boasts one of the most low-key beach atmospheres in New Providence. The stretch is a mile long and is located close to the airport so planes fly close overhead. This sandy location is beloved by tourists and locals alike because it offers a unique experience from the busy, more developed parts of New Providence. It’s a great way to spend quality time on a beach that feels distinctly different from the other hot spots on this list.

Discover Love Beach

Love Beach Amenities: Visitors at Love Beach can rent loungers and beach umbrellas for the day. Other daily rentals available include floats and snorkel gear.

Hair Braiding: This fun Bahamian tradition can take time and Love Beach’s slow Caribbean vibe is perfect for those wanting to try hair braids. Technicians at the beach won’t call out or bother visitors but are happy to deliver the trendy look when approached.

Snorkelling: Love Beach is frequently referenced as one of the best snorkelling spots in Nassau. The coral reef is just offshore and water adventurers can catch close-up views of local marine life. It should be noted that high tide can bring dangerous currents so snorkelers should be careful. We recommend you check Love Beach Tide times before you plan your trip.

Dining at Love Beach

Dining options are limited at Love Beach. Visitors can enjoy all the traditional beach bar fare at Nirvana, including a few vegetarian options. The restaurant has a limited cocktail menu but does offer a small variety of Bahamian beers and Stacey’s famous pina colada is recommended.

Alternatively, the location is ripe for a secluded beach picnic scene. If you have the time to plan ahead, visitors can find a quiet escape to enjoy their preferred beach fare.

Love Beach is located West of Aqualina, on the northern coast of New Providence Island. You could take a 30-minute taxi ride, but another option is to take a jitney, an independently-operated bus that you can hop on just a short walk from the port. The colorful buses are found on Frederick Street. #10 and #12 buses frequently stop at Love Beach, but it’s best to confirm with the driver prior to getting on. This is a longer journey, about 45 minutes to an hour but delivers an authentic and fun travel experience for everyone.

Love Beach is easily accessed by boat, and you can always make arrangements with our concierge to use your Boat Club privileges to get there.

#5: Cable Beach

Our list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning our very own, Cable Beach.
